Virtual cruise along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal

The Huddersfield Narrow Canal runs for almost 20 miles between Ashton under Lyne, Greater Manchester, and Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England.

The Huddersfield Narrow Canal has been restored and it was re-opened for navigation in 2001.

You don't need a boat to enjoy it - you can just sit back and enjoy this virtual cruise along the canal! It will give you a flavour of the scenery and the canal architecture the canal offers.

This "cruise" or virtual tour runs from west to east, but includes views of the canal looking in either direction.

The quality of each image has been kept moderately low to enable the pages to load reasonably quickly, although it may take up to 30 seconds for all the pictures on a page to load.

If you enjoy these pages, you can continue your virtual cruise along the Huddersfield Broad Canal, Calder and Hebble Navigation, Rochdale Canal and back along the Ashton Canal to complete a virtual Pennine Ring.
