The parapet of the infilled Common Bridge, seen from the former towpath.

Looking back towards Common Bridge along the towpath.

The canal itself is infilled along this section. Trees and bushes grow but it is not built on.

A little further ahead, the gardens of a new housing development encroach onto the canal route. The towpath remains clear as a footpath.

Looking back from near Station Road, the line of the towpath to the left is a footpath. The path of the canal itself has been surfaced for use as a yard.

Looking east along the line of the canal near Station Road and the site of Bolton Bridge, these canal-side cottages survive.
