Old Trafford football stadium, home to Manchester United, sits beside the canal.
Beyond Old Trafford, the canal passes an ever-changing landmark made up of shipping containers.
Waters Meeting, Stretford, is the junction of the three main arms of the Bridgewater Canal. Left goes to Lymm, Preston Brook and Runcorn, right goes to Barton, Worsley and Leigh.
