Just beyond Doncaster Road and the railway embankment at Agbrigg, the first section of canal in water is to be found.
Looking towards the site of Heath Bridge, where Oakenshaw Lane crosses.
Beyond Oakenshaw Lane, the canal passes beneath twin railway lines where the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway crossed Oakenshaw Viaduct.
After Oakenshaw railway viaduct, the canal is once again in water.
